Kinesiology faculty member receives academic journal award
Kinesiology Department Head and Associate Professor Lindsay Distefano was among the recipients of the Journal of Athletic Training’s Clint Thompson Award for Clinical Advancement. The award, which was announced on May 1, is given each year to the outstanding manuscript in a category other than original research. DiStefano and her research partners were honored for their article “The public health consequences of sport specialization,” a review that focused on the effect the practice is having within the United States.
The Clint Thompson Award for Clinical Advancement is determined by the editorial board and editors of the Journal of Athletic Training.
