UConn Today and Hartford Business Journal reported on an analysis of UConn’s economic impact on Connecticut. The analysis was completed by a team that included Agricultural and Resource Economics (ARE) Professor Rigoberto Lopez, ARE Ph.D. student Mahdi Fallahi and Steven Lanza, assistant professor in residence in the Department of Economics.

Assistant Aquaculture Extension Educator Anoushka Concepcion was featured on WSHU to discuss the burgeoning kelp industry in Connecticut. Concepcion works in the Connecticut Sea Grant Program in UConn Extension.

Nutritional Sciences Professor Nancy Rodriquez was quoted in an AARP article on daily protein recommendations and maintaining optimal muscle health.

The Daily Campus announced UConn President Thomas Katsouleas formed a working group on sustainability and the environment. Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Natural Resources and the Environment Professor John Volin is a member of the group.

Shuresh Ghimire, an assistant extension educator with UConn Extension, was quoted in a KPRC 2 article about reducing food waste. He shares advice on handling and storing fruits and vegetables.
