Students readingUConn Today featured Assistant Professor of Natural Resources and the Environment Zhe Zhu in their Meet the Researcher series. Zhu has dedicated his research career to learning from what satellite images of Earth can tell us about what’s happening on our planet.

Bonnie Burr, assistant director and department head of UConn Extension, said more hemp processors are needed in southern New England in a CT Insider News-Times article. She also said gathering more information from research and working with other land grant universities are important to advance the emerging hemp industry.

The Dickinson Press shared which houseplants are poisonous to pets and children using information from the UConn Home & Garden Education Center. The Center is part of UConn Extension and serves as a horticultural informational resource for the citizens of Connecticut and beyond.

Rhodes Scholar Wanjiku (Wawa) Gatheru was interviewed on Fox 61’s Real People with Stan Simpson. She discusses her mission of making environmental justice policies more inclusive for people of color. Gatheru is a senior majoring in environmental studies with minors in global studies and urban and community studies.
