Dairy Products Champions — An all-girl judging team with a male alternate
member from the University of Connecticut won first place in a field of 25 college teams in the intercollegiate dairy products judging contest held recently in Houston, Texas. Left to right , they are: James Fenn, Storrs; Ruth Carter, Pomfret Center; Suzanne Loew, Hampton; Mary Stalzer, Woodstock; and Lynn Glazier, UofC associate professor of dairy manufacturing and team coach.
was high individual scorer, and received a $100 award, a gold watch and plaque as national champion. Miss Stalzer placed third in the competition. The Connecticut team took first place in the milk and cottage cheese classes, second in cheddar cheese, third in ice cream and eight in the butter class. Professor FGlazier was voted coach of the year and received a plaque.
