WP_20160415_12_08_27_ProToday.com gave a list of signs of dehydration and referred to a study into the effects of being dehydrated from the Human Performance Laboratory. The Laboratory is associated with the Department of Kinesiology.

The Greater New Milford Spectrum reported that a new garden is being planted on the historic Merwinsville Hotel grounds with the help of the UConn Extension Master Gardener Program. Plants chosen represent those that were used in the 1840s when the hotel was first built.

Climatewire reported that temperatures on the surface of synthetic turf fields can reach 175 degrees. Department of Kinesiology Professor Douglas Casa was quoted about the importance of and techniques for protecting student athletes with heat modification policies.

CNBC quoted Department of Allied Health Sciences Professor Sherry Pagato in an article about Facebook encouraging blood donations by gay men. Pagoto also said that Facebook may need more public health experts to advise it.
