CAHNR in the news

newsprintHartford Courant/Hartford Magazine featured Connecticut farms that grow or produce a variety of items. In the section about Syme Family Farm in Broad Brook, it mentioned active CAHNR alumna Jen Syme and depicted her daughter, Emily, who will be an incoming student majoring in plant science and agriculture. The enterprises of George Malkemus and Anthony Yurgaitis, owners of Arethusa Farm in Litchfield, were also described. Malkemus and Yurgaitis are supporters of CAHNR.

Villager Newspapers (page A12) printed photos of plants, plant sale volunteers and the customers at the Windham County Extension Master Gardener Program Plant Sale in Brooklyn.

UConn Today reprinted an article about yoga and blood pressure. Department of Kinesiology Postdoctoral Research Associate Yin Wu was the primary author of the article, which was in Mayo Clinic Proceedings. Also mentioned in the article were Distinguished Professor Linda Pescatello and Associate Professor Beth Taylor, both from from kinesiology, and Shiqi Chen and Holly Lewis, graduates of kinesiology.
