UConn Today reported that Department of Animal Science Professor Cindy Tian and graduate student Elizabeth Johnson were 2018 finalists for the Wolff Prize in the Wolff New Venture Competition. Their entrepreneurial concept is Mycozap, a plant-derived antimicrobial treatment for illness in cattle caused by Mycoplasma bovis.
Phys.org highlighted a recently published journal article in Science of the Total Environment about how the global climate influences the water cycle in Africa. The lead investigator for the research was Associate Professor Richard O. Anyah from natural resources and the environment. See also UConn Today.
UConn Today described the work of the UConn Climate Corps, an undergraduate classroom and service learning opportunity, which is an outreach partnership of Center for Land Use Education & Research and Connecticut Sea Grant. It depicted a Storrs campus tour of green infrastructure and low impact development led by UConn Extension Educators Associate Cooperative Extension Educator Michael Dietz, Extension Educator Chester Arnold and Assoicate Cooperative Extension Educator Juliana Barrett.
UConn Today featured a photo spread of the UConn Pre-Vet Club dog wash. Several CAHNR students were depicted, including Katie Barber, Brooke Chawner, Colleen Daley, Morgan Dougherty, Maddie Dupre, Erika Gilleran, Emily Graham, Hailey Merrill, Mary Roche, Gabriella Santiago and Claire Strom.
