newspaper readersAGUniverse featured an article about complex forests and their ability to absorb light in its Publications Highlight section for May. The research was co-authored by Assistant Professor Robert Fahey, who is a member of the Department of Natural Resources and the Environment faculty with a joint appointment in the Center for Environmental Sciences & Engineering. The article appeared in the Journal of Geophysical Research.

UConn Today listed Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics student Xiaohan Sun as a coauthor of a study. It that showed that Connecticut child care centers in the Child and Adult Care Food Program foster healthy eating habits among children in their care.

The Bulletin reported on a talk about gypsy moths in Connecticut. Associate Extension Professor Tom Worthley discussed the prospects of a caterpillar infestation this year and pest management.

UConn Today posted a photographic slideshow of 2018 graduation festivities, which included CAHNR. Depicted were alumna Bliss Dasilva; graduating seniors Bridgette Collier and Mariah Lombard; commencement speaker Sonny Ramaswamy, who is the director of the National Institute of Food and Agriculture; Alyssa Condon, who gave the student address on behalf of her graduating class; Department of Nutritional Sciences Professor Hedley Freake; the UConn Morgan Drill Team and an “18” mowed into the side of Horsebarn Hill.
