Bridging the Gap continues inspiring students

The Bridging the Gap program provides summer research fellowships to underrepresented students. The program is funded through the United States Department of Agriculture, who believe that providing experiential learning opportunities to students will deepen understanding, enhance success and promote retention of students in science. Centered in the Department of Nutritional Sciences, the program focuses on food and nutrition and allows students to select either laboratory or community based research placements. Bridging the Gap began in summer 2016 and is entering its third year this summer. Here is what students and faculty have to say about the program:
